What is Clinical Research?
Clinical research is a branch of healthcare science that determines the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products and treatment regimens intended for human use. One type of clinical research is the clinical trial. The most common clinical trials evaluate new drugs, medical devices (such as a new catheter), biologics, psychological therapies, or other interventions. Clinical trials may be required before a national regulatory authority approves marketing of the innovation.
What role does our company play in Clinical Research?
Clinical Research Support provides Clinical Research Associate and Clinical Trial Administration services to sponsors of research. We are the link between the Sponsor, the hospitals where the clinical trials are taking place, and the Regulatory Bodies and Ethics Committees that regulate and approve the research. On a typical work day we could be negotiating research contracts, creating submissions for various bodies/committes approval, giving trainings to hospital personnel, verifying source documentation and creating monitoring template documents.
